I thought we should kick things off with a bang by looking at everyone’s least favourite armour mk

The mk6 Tac squad dropped with 2ed 30k AOD launch box, its reveal was met by a large gnashing of teeth and general seething about muh lore.

Thankfully now that mk2 is getting a release the general seethe has begun to ebb so now is a grand time to have another look at this kit.

The kit is 4x times the above sprue along with a command squat, it’s quite barebones when it comes to options but is the sole source of chain bayonets currently. The marines have been upscaled slightly and are now a bit taller and posses slightly longer arms compared to older plastics. One thing to note is that their heads have been shrunk down a bit which can be noticeable of you mix older and newer heads in a unit.

The size difference is quite noticeable with the more upright poses, the tactical squad alleviates some of size creep.

The kit is mostly compatible older plastic bits, the above was made using the raven wing command kit and the new melee weapon options to make a fully plastic apothecary. Certain older arms do look quite awkward on the slightly more dynamic and weighted poses.

Overall this kit is a solid step up when it comes to marine plastics, 40k marines now have quite awkward cuts in them so a return to a more classic layout is appreciated. I respect the choice to have the torsos as part as the same moulding for legs for better posing out of the box.
