Skallen
Located deep within the heart of the Cathedra sector lies the Skallen
system, considered a backwater of little important the principle planet
Skallic would become a fierce battle ground during the Heresy following a chance encounter between opposing brothers. Skallic is a boggy world known for cultivating vast arrays of fungal growth which is processed into a stable if bland ration block that feeds much of the livestock and poor of the Cathedra sector.

The capital city of the planet Vorkroosha is a damp squalid affair that
wraps around the largest spaceport on the world. The announcement of
the Warmaster’s betrayal was greeted with apathy by Skallic’s citizens as did many things unrelated to fungus.

Skallic saw its first battle when warriors of the Death Guard infiltrated the world in the Poison Plot. By chance a loyalist force arrived and drove the traitors off before they were enact their plan. This battle was the opening shots of the Heresy within the sector.

The world would come under assault again and again by the Death Guard throughout the conflict, the spaceport of Vorkroosha would be the next target of the traitor forces with much of it devastated in a surprise raid. As the war within the sector continued much of the civilised areas of Skallic would be burnt to the ground with both sides employing their most destructive weaponry. By wars end the civilian population had nearly been depleted in its entirety with bloodied loyalist forces holding onto a near dead world.
